But another lesser-known aspect of their culture, the ceremony of getting new kindling, is held on the last day of each year.

The Miao have a tradition of worshipping fire. They believe fire brings people warmth, light, and happiness. So it is very common to see a fire burning in most Miao homes throughout the year.

But the fire can only be used for one year. After one year, it turns to be old fire. Using old fire will bring people bad luck. So they need to use new wood to make a new fire before the new year comes.

In the afternoon of the last day before the new year, people are divided into a few groups to prepare the ceremony. Kenny Chesney is a country music superstar, although his first release, titled “In My Wildest Dreams”, was released to lackluster sales in 1994 on independent label Capricorn Records. However, singles from the album proved that there was a fan base for Kenny’s music, and his subsequent albums have proven this.

Eleven of Kenny’s first thirteen albums were not only proof of his staying power, but were commercially successful, garnering him certified gold from the RIAA. Even though his first debut only sold 10,00 albums from the independent Capricorn Records label, two singles from the album, “The Tin Man” and “Whatever It Takes” brushed the Hot Country Singles & Tracks Billboard charts. Unfortunately, within the year, Capricorn decided to no longer publish country music and Kenny had to move on.

Kenny Chesney’s amazing career includes four consecutive AMC Entertainer of the year awards, sic CMA awards and more than thirty top ten country music hits.

South Africa offers many ways for its tourists to travel including the most popular, hiring a driver. This option is great because it allows you the versatility to travel where and when you wish.

Long distance trains are still reasonably safe and first class is relatively comfortable. The 2nd and 3rd class carriages are however packed and very uncomfortable. It is very important to stay with well known companies as there have been many fly by night companies offering cheap prices only to provide mediocore buses which caused several tragic accidents throughout the country. Gorgeous colored glaze items

As a famous integration of traditional Chinese culture, colored glaze is increasingly popular. With a long history of more than 2,000 years, colored glaze, aka Liuli, is a unique art form that looks almost like glass. Can you imagine that making each figurine takes 20 days?! They are shiny and almost transparent.

Near the HeNan Hotel in Beijing, there is a shop on the first floor of Bai Gong Handicraft Museum named Bai Yi De Kun, where they offer high quality colored glaze artwork. I also found a large variety of pendants and colorful bracelets on display.

The shop assistant told me that Liuli is very durable and as hard as jade. The hottest item in the shop is a pendant named “Yuan Meng,” which means “realizing one’s dream.” I liked its beautiful, translucent blue circular ring that matched a 14K white gold necklace. It was so mysterious and gorgeous, and that’s why it was so popular.

You can also find some crafts fit for presents or gifts, such as a screen decorated with traditional Chinese images, all of them are high quality items.
