Camping is a great way to relax and be one with the beauty of nature. Getting back to natural things via camping in the woods can give you peace of mind, and help to eliminate all of your mental anxieties. Many people make a plan to go camping yearly to rid themselves of the stress and anxiety of everyday life.

The most essential piece of equipment for this type of excursion is the tent. A tent is a basic structure for enclosure to block out weather, animals, and flies while you are camping in a camp spot. The kind of tent used will depend on the area you will be camping. Tents are made especially for different areas, and sometimes, activities. A camping tent is the ideal shelter for people who go hiking, biking, and fishing. Tents can be small enough to haul into camp or so large that they require more than one person to carry them.

It can be confusing to pick a tent out because there are so many kinds. Usually, the size of a tent is measured by how many individuals can fit inside. The three basic types of tents available for campers are:

* Ridge Tents – This is the oldest type of tent in existence. Like the name, there are separate ridges on each side that slope down all the way to the ground. These are probably the most simplest to erect. They usually handle 1-3 people and are very easy carry. These tents are erected with two poles on each side and a rope in the middle to keep it upright.

* Frame Tent – These are the largest type of tents used for larger groups of people and families. These tents are put up with several crisscross poles that pop up the tent and hold the form. The tent fabric is then laid on the crisscrossed poles to provide the shelter. Then, pins and ropes are tied for security.

* Dome Tents – This type of tent is the most common in stores. Like the name, these tents have a dome on the top that helps water to drain down; the dome helps things to easily slide from the roof of the structure so the top is not broken. These tents are low in clearance so you typically cannot walk around inside. But, these types of tents are very easy to carry and simple to put up.

When planning a camping trip, you should make sure you are prepared. Not having the right equipment can lead to a horrible time out there in nature. Furthermore, not having the right tent can be dangerous to you if you are in places of high terrain, or, places with a lot of wildlife. Furthermore, you have to determine how many people are coming along. Tents are usually labeled with how many people can fit in them and it is essential to get one with enough room. Camping is is a great activity – make sure you plan accordingly to ensure this good time.
