The small town of Taba Egypt (it used to be Egyptian, then it became Israeli, and then Egyptian again) is situated on the frontier between Israel and Egypt, close to the northernmost tip of the Gulf of Aqaba. This is a major border crossing between these countries, and therefore it is the preferred overnight spot for travelers between them. The whole area is part of the Red Sea Riviera of Egypt.

A couple of years ago you wouldn’t have found much here except the opulent Hilton and the bus stop, but development is slowly arriving in Taba, and there are at least quite a number of cafes in town. Twenty kilometers south of Taba the new development of Taba Heights also signifies that development money is slowly starting to siphon into the area. The name Egypt conjures up pictures of Pharaohs and temple. Nowhere were these more common than in Luxor. The modern Luxor is built beside the Nile where the ancient city of Thebes existed. The Karnak Temple which is also known as the Amun Temple Precinct. The precinct is built over a large area and has a number of temples. But the most important of these is the temple for Amun Ra. In Egyptian religion Amun Ra was a prominent figure.

The Valley of the Kings is located on the other side of the Nile from Luxor. It was here that the Kings were entombed. The most famous of the Kings here was Tutankhamen. In the valley are tombs of at least 63 kings and excavation continue. Of these only 18 are open to visit and not all 18 are open at any one time. A Cairo holiday can be very amazing and fun. It is a very exciting city that has many pyramids, museums and interesting streets to visit. You will be amazed at the great culture there.

The Saqqara Pyramids are really something so see. They are absolutely amazing. Also visit Sekhemket, Djoser, Unas and the Mastaba of Ti pyramids. It will take you several days to see them all so plan ahead. It is also very hot so bring a lot of bottles of water.

If you visit Cairo you have to see the Cairo Tower. It is very high and sits six hundred feet high to give you a glorious view of the city of Cairo. At the top of the tower there is a revolving restaurant where you can see many different views as you eat.  Read more...
